Photoville x PhotoWings Education Resources

Photography is a language every student already speaks. PhotoWings, in partnership with Photoville, offers a growing library of free photography education resources — lesson plans, educator guides, workbooks, and visual storytelling toolkits — designed to help teachers, teaching artists, and youth program leaders bring image-making and visual literacy into any learning space. Every resource is classroom-ready, downloadable at no cost, and developed alongside working educators through the Photoville Educator Labs. Browse the full collection below, or jump to the materials that fit your subject, grade level, and goals.

What you'll find in the library

Our resources fall into a handful of formats, so you can pick what matches how you teach:

  • Educator guides — In-depth resource guides that frame a theme, supply guiding questions, and connect photography to your curriculum.
  • Lesson plans — Self-contained, ready-to-teach activities you can run in a single class or stretch across a unit.
  • Toolkits — Project-based frameworks built around connecting, making, and sharing, ideal for longer or community-based work.
  • Exhibition guides — Companion materials for photography exhibitions like The Photoville FENCE and My Park Moment, including multilingual editions.
  • Workbooks & educator notebooks — Hands-on prompts, exercises, and field notes drawn directly from our professional development labs.
