Using the Power of Photography to Fight Human Trafficking
Shoot the Skies is a new project from photographer Tanner Stewart with the goal to end human trafficking. Every day for the entire year of 2013, Tanner took and posted photos on the internet to raise awareness about human trafficking. All 365 photos have now been published in a book, with 100% the proceeds from sales being donated to The A21 Campaign, an organization dedicated to preventing human trafficking through awareness and education. Thus far, Tanner's project has raised almost $100,000 to stop human trafficking.
Of the project goal and photos, Tanner writes, "[While making the book's photos] I saw some of the most beautiful views that this planet has to offer. It is scenery that stands in sharp contrast to the darkness of the trafficking that I hope to expose. I’m truly proud of the shots that you’ll see in this book, as well as the stories behind them."
