American Society of Media Photographers - Foundation
The ASMP Foundation furthers the American Society of Media Photographers’ goals by offering grants to organizations that support education, or more specifically, the artistic and professional development of media photographers. The foundation’s page lists current grant recipients and specifies the application deadlines. It also makes an appeal for support for this worthy cause, because donations “can help improve art, craft and profession of photography is real and enduring ways.” Founded in 1944, at a time when print photographers had little financial or professional organization, ASMP was created to defend the rights and interests of professional photographers. The society advocates for copyright protection, business education, professional standards and fellowship, and against work–for–hire and other abuses.
