Our continued partnership with CatchLight travels to Austin, Texas featuring a traveling exhibition alongside a closing event for TribFest 2026. The exhibition, "Portrait of America," celebrates local photojournalism across the United States - from breaking news to everyday life.

Austin, TX
A Portrait of America brings together images from newsrooms across the United States and reflects on the vital work of local visual journalists in documenting their own communities – from breaking news to the rhythms of everyday life. At a time when trust and connection are vital, these visual storytellers expand representation and build lasting relationships. Featuring work by more than 30 photographers, this multimedia exhibition captures the moments that shape communities and deepen our shared understanding.
Since 2019, CatchLight has partnered with local newsrooms to provide visual resources, training, and support across the country. The images on view were produced through this initiative. A Portrait of America is a part of CatchLight’s public programs, expanding access to, understanding of, and support for visual storytelling.
