Tim Rasmussen – Director of Photography, Digital, at ESPN – Eddie Adams Workshop 2015
Watch on VimeoTim Rasmussen is the digital photo editor for ESPN Online. Before joining ESPN, he managed photo departments across the country at a number of newspapers, most recently, The Denver Post. Under Tim’s leadership from 2006 – 2015, the photography staff was awarded three Pulitzers – two for Feature Photography and one for Breaking News Reporting. He established videojournalism at the Post where the staff was awarded 6 National Murrow Awards including Overall Excellence and nominated for a National Emmy in Current News Coverage. Pictures of the Year International awarded the staff with the McDougall Overall Excellence in Editing Award 2012, and Best Use of Photography from NPPA’s Best of Photojournalism and 9 Regional Emmy’s. Before joining The Post, Tim was the Director of Photography of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale. Tim started his photo editing career as Visuals Editor at the Free Lance-Star in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where the paper was awarded Best Use of Pictures from POYi in 2002. He worked his way through college at The Herald Journal in Logan, Utah and in 1988 he was accepted to the first Eddie Adams Workshop where he received one of ten awards given. His work has been published in American and international magazines and newspapers, including the cover of the New York Times Sunday Magazine. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Eddie Adams Workshop since 2004.
