Robert King: “Shooting Robert King,” Foundry Photojournalism Workshop 2013

With the crucial ability to work in the wrong place at the right time, photojournalist Robert King spent the first 15 years of his career as the subject for an acclaimed documentary, “Shooting Robert King.” The film provides an unflinching look into King’s development from young, naive photographer in the Bosnian War into a serious freelance professional. In this section of his conversation with PhotoWings, King speaks about the beginnings of the documentary and how it felt to have the camera turned back onto him. Robert King has chronicled conflicts for the last 20 years from war torn Bosnia, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Rwanda, Iraq, Syria, Kosovo, Azerbaijan, Mexico, Albania, and many other global hot spots. His work is images are published in leading news publications and his videos are broadcasted around the globe. His career as a photojournalist is chronicled in the documentary Shooting Robert King.
