Social media! Newsletters! Websites! Oh my! In this break-it-down course on self-promotion, we’ll walk through how to increase engagement, build a followership, and create community in ways that lead to positive outcomes. This class will highlight how to use platforms to creatively promote your work—and how to get through the difficulty of doing so.

Raquel Natalicchio is a bilingual photographer originally from Los Angeles and now based in Houston as a staff visual journalist for The Houston Chronicle. Raquel documents social issues, community driven stories, political mobilization, and migration across the US/Mexico border while focusing on the universality of humanity, including themes of love, struggle, resilience, and community. Her current long-term project “Borderlands” explores the rich diversity of experiences in communities along the US/Mexico border. Raquel discovered photography in an after school arts program and it changed her life. As a result, one of her passions is working in education, and she’s developed photography curricula centered around themes like self-love for teen girls. Raquel is passionate about community building and has produced several talks, panel discussions, and exhibitions in Los Angeles, Houston, and London. Raquel is the NPPA South Regional Chair and a member of Women Photograph and Diversify Photo. Follow Raquel on Instagram at @raquelnatalicchio
