Louie Schwartzberg – Learning Through Gratitude

Award-winning producer, director and cinematographer Louie Schwartzberg discusses his life, his career, his practice and his embrace of nature as a healing modality and a model for collaboration. A coveted speaker, Schwartzberg is active in the TED community and his talks have garnered over 47 million views.

Distinguished as an artist and a pioneer who transformed 35mm time-lapse photography into an arresting art forum, he is the only filmmaker who has been shooting in this style continuously, 24/7, for more than three decades.

His nature, aerial and slice-of-life imagery has transformed films by Steven Spielberg, Oliver Stone, Francis Ford Coppola, Paul Haggis and Ridley Scott.

By documenting nature in such a remarkable way, he hopes to provide a path for people to witness amazing phenomena that might otherwise be out of reach.

Louie Schwartzberg is an award-winning producer, director and cinematographer whose notable career spans more than three decades. Louie is credited by many with pioneering the contemporary stock footage industry by founding Energy Film Library, a global company, which was acquired by Getty Images in 1997. His recent theatrical releases include the 3D IMAX film “Mysteries of the Unseen World” with National Geographic, narrated by Forest Whitaker, and “Wings of Life,” a feature-length documentary for Disneynature, narrated by Meryl Streep. One of Louis most recent projects in on Visual Healing, a program designed to enhance, improve and inspire the built environment by bringing full sensory solutions to the $2 trillion wellness and eco-lifestyle marketplaces. He was recognized as one of the “Top 70 Cinematographers” for the On Film Kodak Salute Series. Schwartzberg was also recently honored and humbled to receive the NAAPC Pollinator Protector award.
