Award winning filmmaker and Leica photographer Deborah Anderson, has created iconic imagery for the covers of pop music albums and magazines, as well as for the walls of an expansive clientele of private homes and landmark hotels worldwide.

Of Indigenous, Black, Irish and Scottish descent, her photographic work has hung in prestigious galleries both in Europe and the US along with having created three fine art photographic books.

Most recently Deborah produced and directed the feature documentary film ‘Women Of The White Buffalo’ released in 2022, making the top 10 documentary list on iTunes in its first week of opening and winning numerous awards, elevating Indigenous voices globally.


"I grew up on the island of Barbados and have a deep connection to the people, the culture and the land. It is and always will be home to me.

For this next series of work, I want to share this culture and important history of the island by way of highlighting stories of the local people, the land and historic landmarks with still photography and film using the Leica SL 2s.

With all the beauty, lush landscapes and turquoise ocean, there is a tangible magic that permeates the soul, and so it is hard to believe the island was the birthplace of British slave society.

I know the importance of bringing these stories to the forefront, as by way of sharing them we heal our past wounds, honor our ancestors who walked before us and empower our future generations."
